본 연구는 공공데이터를 활용한 학습 프로그램을 개발하고 이를 실제 적용하여, 학생들의 데이터 분석 역량과 학습 만족도를 실증적으로 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 학습 프로그램은 경험학습이론, 문제중심학습, 목적기반 시나리오에 기반하여 설계되었다. 개발된 학습 프로그램은 교육과정과 연계할 수 있는 ‘고령화’라는 사회적 이슈를 주제로 구성되었으며, 학생들이 데이터 분석 과정을 경험할 수 있도록 데이터 수집, 데이터 전처리 및 정제, 데이터 분석 및 정리, 해석 및 결과 제시 단계를 포함하여 설계하였다. 프로그램 적용 결과, 학생들의 데이터 분석 역량은 통계적으로 유의미한 향상을 보였으며, 특히 데이터 이해와 수집 영역에서 크게 나타났다. 학습 만족도 또한 긍정적으로 나타났으며, 학생들은 공공데이터를 활용하여 실제 사회문제를 이해하고 해결 방안을 모색하는 활동에 흥미를 보였다. 이러한 결과는 공공데이터 활용 학습이 데이터 분석 역량은 물론 시민 교육적 의미 지니고 있으며, 학교 교육과정 내 실천적 시민성을 함양 할 수 있는 효과적인 교육 전략이 될 수 있음을 시사한다.
Abstract
This study aimed to develop a learning program utilizing public data and to empirically analyze its effectiveness by applying it in actual classrooms, focusing on students' data analysis competency and learning satisfaction. The program was designed based on experiential learning theory, problem-based learning, and goal-based scenarios. The developed learning program was structured around the social issue of “aging” which aligns with the school curriculum, and included stages such as data collection, data preprocessing and refinement, data analysis and organization, and interpretation and presentation of results to provide students with hands-on experience in the data analysis process. Application of the program resulted in statistically significant improvements in students' data analysis competency, particularly in the areas of overall data comprehension and collection. Learning satisfaction was also positive, and students showed significant interest in activities that involved understanding and proposing solutions to real-world social issues using public data. These results suggest that public data-based learning not only enhances data analysis competency but also carries civic educational significance, demonstrating its potential as an effective educational strategy for fostering practical citizenship within the school curriculum.
