신체활동 참여 노인의 특성: 2020 노인실태조사를 중심으로

이 연구의 목적은 신체활동에 참여하는 노인들의 특성을 파악하는 것이다. 이 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 2020년 노인실태조사 자료를 활용하였다. 구체적으로 가구일반사항, 건강상태와 건강행태, 기능상태, 경제활동, 생활환경과 노후생활 문항을 활용하였으며 5개 요인 23개 변인으로 재구성하였다. 본인이 직접 설문에 참여하지 않은177명의 데이터는 제외하고 9,920명의 데이터만을 최종 분석에 이용하였다. 자료처리를 위해 IBM SPSS 26.0을 활용하여 차이검증과 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였으며, 유의수준은 .05로 설정하였다. 이 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 신체활동에 참여하는 집단과 비참여 집단은 의료기간 이용 횟수, 우울증 점수, 근무 시간을 제외한 모든변인에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 노인의 신체활동 참여에 영향을 미치는 요인은 개인적 특성(연령, 교육수준), 건강 특성(평소건강상태, 의사진단 만성질환 수, 1개월 동안 의료기관 이용 횟수, BMI), 신체기능 특성(보조기 사용개수, 동작수행 점수, IADL 완전자립여부), 경제활동 특성(평균 주당 근무 일수, 월평균 소득), 생활환경 특성(지역사회환경 만족도, 삶의 만족도, 운동할 수 있는 공원까지 걸리는 시간, 노인복지관까지 걸리는 시간, 사회복지관까지 걸리는 시간)으로 나타났다. 이 연구의 결과는 신체활동에 참여하는 노인의 특성을 파악함으로써 신체활동 비참여 노인이 신체활동에 참여하기 위해 갖추어져야 할 조건을 간접적으로 확인하였다. 이에 국가 및 지자체의 노인 신체활동 활성화 정책 등 다양한 영역에서 활용될 수 있을 것이라 판단한다.
Abstract
The aim of this study is to identify the characteristics of older adults who engage in physical activity. To achieve this, data from the 2020 National Survey of the Elderly was utilized. The household general information, health status and behavior, functional status, economic activity, living environment, and old age questions were reorganized into 5 factors and 23 variables. The final analysis was conducted using the data of 9,920 respondents, after excluding the data of 177 respondents who did not participate in the survey. IBM SPSS 26.0 was used for difference testing and logistic regression analysis during data processing, with a significance level of .05. The study’s conclusions are as follows: there were statistically significant differences in all variables, except for the number of healthcare visits, depression score, and working hours, between the physical activity participants and non-participants. Personal characteristics such as age and education level, health characteristics such as general health status and number of physician-diagnosed chronic diseases, physical functioning characteristics such as number of orthotics and motor performance score, economic activity characteristics such as average number of days worked per week and average monthly income, and living environment characteristics such as satisfaction with community environment, satisfaction with life, time to a park for exercise, time to a senior center, and time to a social welfare center were found to influence physical activity among older adults. By identifying the characteristics of older adults who participate in physical activity, this study indirectly identifies the conditions necessary for inactive older adults to engage in physical activity. The results can be applied in various areas, including national health policies.
