Abstract

The purposes of this study are to classify and understand the characteristics of potential classes using artificial intelligence (AI) services and to analyze predictive factor that affect the classes, and to present theoretical and policy implications. For this purpose, data from the 2023 Report on the Digital Divide conducted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency were analyzed. Using latent class analysis, AI service user classes were classified into four categories: ‘Minimal users’ (54.0%), ‘All-round users’ (7.2%), ‘Work-related service users’ (22.6%), and ‘Daily life-related service users’ (16.2%). The results of multinomial logistic regression analysis showed that personal factors such as gender, age, and education, and economic factors such as household income, AI service awareness and social factors such as digital support had a significant effect on the latent classes. Based on these analysis results, this study presents theoretical and policy implications for promoting the use of artificial intelligence services.
