대학생의 성격 5요인과 진로준비행동의 관계에서 진로결정 효능감의 매개효과

초록

본 연구의 목적은 성격 5요인과 진로준비행동의 관계에서 진로결정 효능감의 매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 설정된 연구 문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성격 5요인과 진로결정 효능감, 진로준비행동의 관계는 어떠한가? 둘째, 성격 5요인의 외향성, 성실성, 개방성, 정서안정성과 진로준비행동의 관계에서 진로결정 효능감이 매개역할을 하는가? 이러한 연구문제를 검증하기 위하여 수도권 4년제 대학 3개교에 재학 중인 학생 472명(남학생 158명, 여학생 314명)을 대상으로 성격 5요인 척도, 진로결정 효능감 척도, 진로준비행동 척도를 실시하였다. 상관 및 회귀분석 등을 통해 확인된 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성격 5요인의 외향성, 성실성, 개방성, 원만성이 진로결정 효능감과 진로준비행동에 정적 상관이 나타났으며, 정서안정성은 진로결정 효능감과 정적 상관이 있었다. 둘째, 진로결정 효능감은 성실성, 개방성과 진로준비행동의 관계를 부분 매개하였으며, 외향성과 진로준비행동의 관계를 완전 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 상담 및 교육 장면에서 성격 및 효능감의 개인차에 대한 이해를 통해 진로준비행동을 촉진하도록 조력하는 방안과 추후 연구를 위한 제안점이 논의되었다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the role of the career decision-making self-efficacy on the relation between the big five personality factors and career preparation behaviors. In this study, the relation among the variables and the mediated effects of the self-efficacy on the relation between the Big-five factors and career preparation behaviors were examined. In doing so, 472 four-year-college students (male 158, female 314) in metropolitan areas were recruited. International Personality Item Pool, Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale Short Form, Career Preparation Behavior Scale were used. First, extraversion, conscientiousness, agreeableness, and openness showed a significant positive correlation with the self-efficacy and career preparation behaviors. Second, the self-efficacy partially mediated the association between conscientiousness and career preparation behaviors as well as that between openness and career preparation behaviors. However, the self-efficacy completely mediates the relation between extraversion and career preparation behaviors.
