Abstract

This study examined the relationship between psychological functioning, non-dailiness, and health behaviors among Koreans during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, with consideration of gender and age. Additionally, non-dailiness experiences influencing psychological functioning and health behaviors were compared at two different time points. The first survey was conducted from February 19 to March 3, 2021, and the second survey was conducted from October 19 to November 17, 2021. The factors influencing psychological functioning at both time points were ‘conflicts at school and work,’ ‘depression,’ and ‘the need for mental health care’ for women in 20/30s. For women over 40, ‘activity restriction,’ ‘depression,’ ‘media-induced sleep problems,’ and ‘the need for mental health care’ predicted psychological functions. For men in 20/30s, ‘depression,’ ‘the need for mental health care’ predicted psychological functioning. For men over 40, ‘avoidance of using public transportation,’ ‘depression,’ ‘media-induced sleep problems,’ ‘health behavior,’ and ‘the need for mental health care’ predicted psychological functioning.
