해외투자위험관리방안으로서의 해외투자보험에 관한 연구

이 연구는 위험관리방법으로서 해외투자보험이 그 역할을 제대로 수행하고 있는지 계량적인 방법을 통하여 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 중력모형을 이용하여 우리나라의 GDP, 현지국의 GDP, 현지국과의 거리, 현지국의 1인당 GDP해외투자보험인수액, FTA 체결여부로 구성된 함수를 상정하고 추정하였다. 추정결과 우리나라와 현지국의 GDP 및 현지국과의 거리는 해외투자에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 중력모형이 해외투자에 대한 설명에도 유용한 모형임이 입증되었다. 해외투자보험은 국가위험을 통제할 경우 해외투자에 유의한 영향이 없으나 국가위험을 이를 제외할 경우 해외투자에 유의한 영향을 미쳐 해외투자보험이 국가위험의 관리에는 유용한 수단임을 말해준다.
Abstract
This study analyzes the effects of overseas investment insurance on foreign direct investment and overseas investment insurance performs its role properly as a risk management tool. The panel gravity model by K. Head and T. Mayer(2014) is assumed and extended to include overseas investment insurance coverages in Korea during the recent 22 years from 1993 to 2014 for 18 countries. Estimated results show that Korea and the host country's GDP and distance have a significant impact on foreign direct investment in the host country. In addition, Overseas Investment Insurance has a significant influence on foreign direct investment when the model control the country risk.
