균형성과표(BSC) 성공요인이 경영성과에 미치는 영향－유용성·활용수준의 매개효과를 중심으로－

본 연구에서는 CEO지원과 의사소통, 정보시스템지원, 교육훈련을 주요 독립변수로 하고, BSC유용성·활용수준을 매개변수로 하여 이를 통한 경영성과에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 기업의 경영성과변수는 재무적 성과와 비재무적 성과로 나누어지며 재무적 성과에는 매출액성장률, 영업이익증가율, 그리고 당기순이익증가율이 포함된다. 비재무적성과는 고객유지율향상, 고객확보, 신제품개발, 불량률개선, 1인당생산성향상을 포함한다. 실증분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, BSC 성공요인(CEO의 지원과 의사소통, 정보시스템지원, 교육훈련)은 경영성과에 유의한 정의 영향을 미친다. 둘째, BSC 성공요인(CEO의 지원과 의사소통, 정보시스템지원, 교육훈련)은 BSC유용성·활용수준에 통계적으로 유의한 정의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, BSC유용성·활용수준이 경영성과에 정(＋)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 경영성과를 재무적 성과, 비재무적 성과로 구분하여 분석하여도 동일한 결과를 보였다. 넷째, BSC 성공요인(CEO 지원과 의사소통, 정보시스템 지원, 교육훈련)이 경영성과에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 BSC유용성·활용수준이 매개효과를 보였다. 하지만 매개의 정도는 완전 매개 효과를 보이지는 않고 부분적인 매개 효과를 보였다. 이러한 효과가 확인됨으로 인해, BSC 도입으로 인한 경영성과의 향상은 강력한 CEO 지원과 의사소통, 보다 혁신적인 정보시스템 지원, 그리고 적극적인 교육훈련을 실시하여 달성할 수 있고 그러한 영향은 BSC유용성·활용수준의 제고를 통하여 이루어짐을 알 수 있다. 즉, CEO 지원과 의사소통, 정보시스템 지원, 그리고 교육훈련은 BSC유용성․활용수준을 통하여 경영성과를 높일 수 있을 것으로 해석될 수 있다.
Abstract
This paper tests and examines whether the BSC sucess factors variables (CEO support and communication, Information system and Education training process) will have effects on the firms’ performance and BSC usefulness and whether the BSC usefulness will have effects on the firms’ performance. This paper’ empirical results are as below： First, the CEO support and communication, Information system and Education training process have statistically significant influence on the firms’s performance. Second, the CEO support and communication, Information system and Education training process have statistically significant influence on the BSC usefulness. Third, the BSC usefulness has effect on the firms’s financial performance and the firms’s non－financial performance. Lastly, mediator variables (BSC usefulness) has statistically significant effects on the firms’ financial performance and non－financial performance. Through the investigation of the relation between the above dependant variables and the firms’ financial and non－financial performance and examining the mediating effects of BSC usefulness on the relationship between the BSC sucess factors variables and the firms’ financial performance and non－financial performance, this research presents the implications to the firms that want to use BSC tools and tells the meaningful directions to make the effective BSC system. Furthermore, the mediating effect analysis using the Baron and Kenny(1986)’ three step approach is expected to be implemented and applied by the future’s researchers and scientists of accounting and management related literature.
