BSC 연계촉진자의 실행수준과 BSC 활용 효과성간의 관계에서 정보시스템의 조절역할 검토 - 국내 BSC 도입기업을 대상으로 -

초록

본 연구는 BSC를 도입하여 운영하고 있는 국내 대기업을 대상으로 BSC 연계촉진자의 실행수준과 현재 기업 내 구축되어 있는 정보시스템의 역량과 정보기술 인프라 수준이 BSC 활용의 효과성에 어떠한 영향을 미치고 있는가를 다양한 분석을 통해 검증해 보았다. BSC를 성공적으로 실행하고 있는 다수 기업들의 특징을 살펴보면, 이들 기업은 BSC를 통한 최적의 효과창출을 위해서 전사차원의 전략을 하위 모든 사업부문과 팀 및 개인에 이르기까지 캐스캐이딩(Cascading)함으로써 전략적 일체화를 위해 노력하였으며, 조직 내 모든 구성원들이 전략과 기업 내 정보를 충분히 공유할 수 있도록 정보지원의 규모와 수준, 접근성 및 활용도 그리고 정보기술의 인프라수준이 높다는 것을 알 수 있다. 연구결과, 전략과 균형성과표의 연계촉진자의 실행수준에 따른 BSC 활용의 효과성을 분석한 결과, 전략수행노력 및 모니터링의 실행수준과 경영진의 BSC 참여 및 이해도 그리고 BSC와 관련된 관계정보의 수렴도가 높을수록 BSC가 제공하는 정보의 수준과 활용성과 그리고 기업성과도 향상됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한 이들의 관계에서 정보시스템의 역량 및 정보기술 인프라수준의 조절역할을 검증한 결과, 정보시스템의 역량은 BSC 제공정보수준과 재무 및 학습성과에서, 정보기술 인프라수준은 내부성과 및 학습성과에서 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 곧 연구대상기업들이 전략과 BSC 연계촉진자의 실행정도를 강화하면서 정보시스템의 역량 및 기술수준과 상호작용하여 시너지효과를 얻지 못하고, 오히려 이에 의존함으로써 전략수행노력 및 모니터링의 실행, 경영진의 BSC 참여 및 이해, BSC 관계정보의 수렴노력을 게을리 함으로써 BSC 활용의 효과를 십분 발휘하는데 정(+)의 기능을 하지 못하고 있음을 단적으로 보여준다.

Abstract

This study examined the moderating effects of Information system on the relationship between strategic aligning facilitator of BSC and effectiveness of the BSC. The results of this study are summarized as follows. The strategic aligning facilitator of BSC is identified as critical success factors from literature and successful case study, it could be possible to raise the effective usefulness of BSC. Kaplan and Norton provided a guideline for building a Strategy- Focused Organization(SFO). It's a commitment to a new way of managing that puts strategy at the center of the management process. Also, ability of Information system and a level of infra in Information system were observed to moderate negatively related to between strategic aligning facilitator of BSC and effectiveness of the BSC. in specially, a level of information and financial perspective, internal business process perspective, learning and growth perspective.
