본 연구는 항공수익경영모형과 관련된 항공편 좌석재고 할당모형의 최적해 도출을 위한 이론적인 고찰을 포함하고 있다. 구체적으로 항공편 최적 좌석재고의 수준 및 판매가격의 결정을 위한 두 가지 요금수준을 가지는 단일기간 수익경영문제를 다룬다. 기존 연구와의 차이점으로는 가격차에 의한 수요 대체와 좌석재고의 한계가 포함되는 모형을 고려한다. 최적화 모형의 해를 구하는 방법으로는 라그란지안 방법을 이용하며 연구모형의 이론적인 해를 기존연구와의 결과를 비교하며 경영학적인 의미를 파악한다.
Abstract
In this research, we provide an analytical discussion for deriving optimal solutions of the seat inventory allocation decision model in airline revenue management (RM). Specifically, we consider a two-fare, single-period airline RM model for joint pricing and seat inventory allocation decisions. The most significant difference between this research and the existing literature is that our model deals with substitution as a result of price-differences and includes an inventory/capacity limit. We use Lagrangian method for the optimization model with an inventory/capacity limit and compare the analytical results of this research with those of earlier research, providing managerial implications. A key contribution of this research is that wedevelop analytical procedures for finding optimal solutions and consider the impact of price-based substitution and a capacity constraint on the optimal solutions.
