초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relations between adolescents' stress, ego resilience, social support, and subjective wellbeing, and to find an alternative to reduce their stress and increase their subjective wellbeing. To do that, this study looked into 274 middle school students as study subjects. The study results are summarized as follows: First, to investigate the difference in adolescents' stress, ego resilience, social support and subjective wellbeing according to gender, this study conducted t-test. As a result, male students' stress was lower than female ones'; male students' ego resilience and social support were higher than female ones'; there was no difference in positive emotion, negative emotion, and life satisfaction, which are the sub factors of subjective wellbeing. Secondly, regarding the correlations between adolescents' stress, ego resilience and social support, and their subjective wellbeing, positive emotion had negative correlation with stress, and had positive correlation with ego resilience and social support; negative emotion had positive correlation with stress, and had negative correlation with ego resilience and social support; life satisfaction had negative correlation with stress and had positive correlation with ego resilience and social support. Thirdly, to look into the relative influence of the variables affecting adolescents' subjective wellbeing, this study conducted hierarchical regression analysis. As a result, in terms of positive emotion, the most relatively influential variable was social support, followed by ego resilience; in terms of negative emotion, the most one was stress, followed by ego resilience; in terms of life satisfaction, the most one was stress, followed by ego resilience and social support.
