본 연구는 각 국가별 산업연관표를 이용하여 한국을 비롯한 주요국의 경제 구조를 분석하고 최종수요유발효과들을 실증적으로 비교 분석한 연구이다. 미국이나 일본 등 주요 선진국과 비교할 때 한국은 산업연계 및 혁신, 그리고 산업구조 고도화 측면에서 상대적으로 열악한 구조를 보이고 있었다. 이는 한국 제조업이 그 동안 최종제품의 생산을 위해 국내에서의 부품 혹은 소재의 조달비율을 높여 연계성을 높이거나 생산의 우회도를 높여 국내에서의 부가가치를 높이기보다는 다양한 수입제품에 대한 의존도를 높이는 방법으로 최종재 산업의 성장이 이루어졌음을 시사한다. 이러한 현상은 최종재산업의 생산성을 단기적으로 높이고, 품질수준이 높은 수입제품을 사용하여 생산에서의 리스크를 낮추는 효과는 기대할 수 있을지 모르지만, 장기적으로는 결국 중간재(소재 및 부품)산업의 성장을 제약함으로 인해 최종재산업의 성장까지 한계를 갖게 되는, 저성장의 함정에 빠질 수도 있다는 위험성을 내포한다. 이를 극복하기 위해서는 장기적이고 구조적인 관점에서 향후 부품산업, 소재산업, 최종재산업군에 이르는 일련의 과정 속에서 상호 연계와 협력을 강화하여 선순환의 균형발전 시스템을 마련해야 할 것이다. 또한 기초소재부터 최종재에 이르는 생산시스템의 효율성을 향상시켜 생산제품의 혁신과 고급화, 고도화를 진전시켜야 한다.
Abstract
The objective of this study is to analyze the economic structure and final demand induced effects of major countries by using the input-output table. When compare with main advanced nations such as the United States of America or Japan, Korea was shown inferior industrial structure in various sides such as industrial linkage and innovation. This implies that growth of Korea’s final goods industries was attained by method that heighten dependence on imported components and materials rather than heightens addend value of domestic intermediate goods. This phenomenon contains weakness that may fall to under-development trap that have limit to final goods industries’ growth by that restrict growth of the domestic intermediate goods industries for long-term finally. To overcome this point, we need long-term and structural changes such as strengthening of industrial linkage and cooperation in components, material and final goods industries.
