본 연구의 목적은 산업연관분석 방법론을 통해 한국 서비스업의 구조 및 제조업과의 상호 연관성 변화를 실증 분석하고 이를 일본의 서비스업과 비교 분석함으로써 향후 우리나라 서비스업 육성전략 마련에 필요한 기초자료를 제공하는 것이다. 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국은 경제의 서비스화 수준이 일본보다 낮고 그 격차는 2000년 이후 확대되었다. 고용측면에서 볼 때, 한국 서비스업의 네 가지 부문별 구성비 차이가 커서 불균형적으로 성장하였지만, 일본의 경우 네 가지 부문의 구성비가 서로 유사해 균형있게 성장한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 한국 서비스업과 제조업의 연관성은 일본보다 작은 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 생산자서비스업과 제조업의 연계성에 대한 한국과 일본의 격차는 더욱 확대된 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 서비스업의 생산·부가가치·취업유발계수를 분석한 결과, 우리나라 서비스업과 다른 산업의 직·간접적인 산업연관성이 지속적으로 높아지고 있지만 여전히 일본보다 약하다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide the Korean service industry with a strategy for its future development on the basis of a comparative analysis on structure changes in the service sector and its industrial linkages with the manufacturing sectors. In this paper an input-output analysis is employed. It gained some meaningful results from such analyzing. First, Korea is lower than Japan in the proportion of the service industry, and the gap between two has been widened since 2000. The Japanese service industry has kept a balanced growth among its four sub-sectors, whereas the Korean counterpart reveals an unbalanced growth in terms of employment. Second, Korea is weaker than Japan in the service industry's linkages with the manufacturing sector. In particular, the gap between Korea and Japan in the producer service's linkages with the manufacturing industry is much widened. Finally, direct and indirect industrial linkages in the Korean service industry with other industries continually increase, but they are still weaker than those of the Japanese service sector.
