Prolonged starvation leads to metabolic changes including a more catabolic state and subsequent health problems, such as, hypotension, rhabdomyolysis, acute kidney injury (AKI), and even mortality. We report a teenager girl missing in the rural mountain who was starved, isolated, and suffered from rhabdomyolysis and AKI. Proper evaluation and early fluid correction therapy resulted in a favorable outcome.
