Abstract
Recently, the results of the study of the linguistic system of the languages around China have been steadily published, thus the relationship with the Transeurasian(Altaic) language group to which Koreanic belongs is being investigated faster than ever before. Linguistic genealogy, which deals with systemic problems of language, is not recognized as a perfectly-established discipline, but is actively used. Among linguistics, this field is related to historical linguistics. In particular, based on comparative linguistic research methodology, the lineage of each language is traced in reverse chronological order. On the premise of population expansion due to agriculture, a study that the origin of the Korean language may be in the vicinity of West Liao basin was recently published in the journal Nature, drawing great attention. In this paper, among the research methodologies related to linguistic genealogy, we will look at the recent issues surrounding Transeurasian(Altaic) languages around China.
