텍스트 마이닝을 활용한 ‘맹자’ 연구 동향 분석―KCI 등재지를 중심으로

본 연구는 KCI에서 ‘맹자’를 키워드로 수집된 713편의 논문 데이터를 기초 자료로 사용하여, 텍스트 마이닝 기법으로 맹자 관련 연구 동향을 분석한 것이다. 출현 빈도와 네트워크 분석 결과에서는, ‘도덕’, ‘인간’, ‘사상’, ‘해석’이 주요 키워드로 도출되었으며, 이는 맹자 연구가 ‘도덕적 철학’과 ‘인간의 본성’을 중심으로 이루어지고 있음을 보여 준다. 토픽 모델링 분석에서는 6개의 주제로 분류하였으며, ‘맹자 경전 연구’, ‘유교 철학과 타 사상가 비교’, ‘왕도정치’, ‘맹자 해석과 학습’, ‘인간사회에 대한 사상’, ‘맹자의 내용’이 주요 주제였다. 연구 분야별 분류 분석에서는, 인문학뿐만 아니라 사회과학, 복합학, 예술체육, 의약학, 농수해양 등 여러 분야에서 연구되고 있음을 보여 준다. 맹자에 관한 연구는 다양한 학문과 접목되어 있음을 보여 주며, 본 연구는 이러한 연구 동향을 데이터화하여 텍스트마이닝 기법으로 분석한 시도로서 의의가 있다고 본다.
Abstract
This study analyzes research trends related to Mencius using text mining, based on a dataset of 713 academic papers collected from the KCI with ‘Mencius’ as a keyword. The results of frequency analysis and network analysis identified ‘morality’, ‘human’, ‘thought’, and ‘interpretation’ as major keywords, indicating that Mencius studies have been primarily centered on ‘moral philosophy’ and ‘human nature’. Topic modeling analysis categorized the research into six major themes: ‘Studies on Mencius as a Classical Text’, ‘Comparative Studies between Confucian Philosophy and Other Thinkers’, ‘The Politics of the Kingly Way’, ‘Interpretation and Learning of Mencius’, ‘Philosophical Views on Human Society’, and ‘The Content of Mencius Teachings’. A classification by research fields further revealed that studies on Mencius are conducted not only in the humanities but also in social sciences, interdisciplinary studies, arts and physical education, medical sciences, and agricultural and marine sciences. The findings suggest that research on Mencius is being integrated with various academic disciplines. This study is significant in that it attempts to analyze the database of these research trends using text mining techniques.
