본 연구는 유아의 연령에 따른 이야기 구조 개념 발달을 살펴보고, 이야기 구조 개념 발달이 유아의 연령과 성에 따라 차이가 있는지를 알아보는 것과 이야기 유형이 유아의 연령과 성에 따라 차이가 있는지를 알아보는 것이었다. 연구대상은 서울 소재 사립유치원에 재원 중인 4, 5, 6세 유아 101명이었으며, 그들이 융판 자료를 이용해 이야기한 자료는 연구문제에 따라 백분율, 분산분석, 카이검증의 방법으로 통계분석이 이루어졌다. 그 결과 유아의 이야기 구조 개념 발달은 연령이 증가함에 따라 높은 단계로 이동하는 경향을 보였으나 통계적으로 볼 때 4세와 5, 6세 간에는 차이를 보였으나 5세와 6세 간에는 차이가 없었으며 성에 따라서는 의미있는 차이를 보이지 않았다. 한편 이야기 유형에서는 연령과 성에 따라 차이가 나타나지 않았다.
Abstract
This paper examines both concept development in the story structures and type of story of young children's narratives according to age and gender. Subjects were one hundred and one 4-5-and 6-year olds at a private kindergarten in Seoul. The results of this study reveal an age related progression toward higher concept development in story structuring. Specifically, there are significant concept development differences in narrative structures between younger (4-year olds) and older children (5-and 6-year olds). However, between 5-and 6-year old no significant differences in concept development were found. No gender differences in concept development were found in any of the groups. As well, neither age nor gender played a role in the type of narrative chosen by children.
