연령집단 구성에 따른 유아의 의사소통전략과 사회적 행동-쌓기놀이를 중심으로-

본 연구는 연령집단 구성에 따라 쌓기놀이 상황에서 나타나는 유아의 의사소통전략과 사회적 행동이 어떠한 차이가 있는지 비교․분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 어린이집에 재원 중인 3세 유아 60명, 5세 유아 60명, 총 120명이었다. 동일연령 30집단(3세 15집단, 5세 15집단, 각 집단은 동일연령 4명으로 구성), 혼합연령 30집단(각 집단은 3세 2명, 5세 2명으로 총 4명 구성)을 쌓기놀이에 참여하도록 한 다음, 쌓기놀이에서 발생하는 유아의 의사소통전략과 사회적 행동을 관찰한 후 수집된 자료는 t-검증을 통해 집단 간의 차이를 분석하였다. 연구결과는 3세와 5세 동일연령 집단과 혼합연령 집단 사이의 의사소통전략 및 사회적 행동 간에 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

Abstract

This study examines the differences in communication strategies and social behaviors observed during block play sessions of two groups during block play: one in which the children were all the same age and another in which the children in the group were of mixed ages. Subjects totaled 120 young children in attendance at day care centers located in G city. Sixty of these were divided into 30 same-age pairs of 3-year-old children and another sixty five year olds made up 30 same-age pairs. The children were all observed in their same-age pairs for twenty minutes and then, on another occasion switched to different-age pairs where they were once again observed for 20 minutes. The Communication Strategies Inventory and the Bronson Profile were used in the collection of data and a t-test was used to analyze the data. Analyses of the data reveal statistically significant differences between the same-age group and the mixed-age group in both communication strategies and social behaviors.
