가족 상호작용 및 가정환경과 유아의 심리가 유아의 사회적 유능성에 미치는 영향

본 연구에서는 가족 상호작용 및 가정환경과 유아의 심리가 유아의 사회적 유능성에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 유아와 가정 변인에 관한 복합적인 본 연구를 위해 육아정책연구소가 2017년에 발표하여 전국적 데이타에 대한 분석이 가능한 한국아동패널 7차년도(2014) 자료를 사용하였다. 1차 년도의 연구대상은 2,150 가정이며, 7차 년도의 연구대상은 72∼79개월의 유아 1,620명과 그 가족이다. 연구에 사용된 검사도구의 신뢰도, 데이터의 평균과 표준편차, 상관관계를 살폈다. 가족 상호작용 및 가정환경과 유아의 심리가 유아의 사회적 유능성에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 구조방정식을 활용하였는데 모델의 적합도는 우수하였다. 연구결과, 가족 상호작용은 유아의 사회적 유능성에 긍정적 영향을 보이고 있었으며, 유아의 심리를 매개로 한 간접효과도 긍정적 영향력을 나타내고 있었다. 가정환경은 유아의 사회적 유능성에 긍정적 영향력을 미치고 있었으나, 유아의 심리를 매개로 한 간접 영향력은 약한 부적 형태를 보여주고 있었다. 또한, 유아의 심리는 유아의 사회적 유능성에 긍정적 작용을 하고 있었다. 이에, 가족 간 긍정적 상호작용의 기회를 많이 만들고 가정환경의 차이를 극복하기 위해 사회적 지원과 교육기관의 노력이 필요함을 알 수 있었다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the associations of family interaction, home environment, and children’s psychological variables with the children’s social competence. The data of 1,620 children and their parents from the 7th Panel Study on Korean Children(Korea Institute of Child Care and Education, 2017) was used for this study. We first ran descriptive statistics and correlations among key variables. The structural equation model was used to examine associations of family interaction, home environment, and children’s psychological variables with their social competence. The model fit of the model was very good. The research results showed that family interaction is directly and indirectly associated with children’s social competence. The association between family interaction and children’s social competence is mediated by children’s psychological variables. Home environment is also directly and indirectly associated on the children’s social competence but its indirect association via children’s psychological variables was weak and negative. In addition, children’s psychological variables were positively related to their social competence. Thus, we suggest providing opportunities for positive family interactions and offering social support and educational efforts of to fill the gap resulted from socio-economic disparity.
