본 연구는 국내 유아교육학 분야의 전반적인 연구동향을 살펴보기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위 해 2005년부터 2019년까지 유아교육학 분야 주요 학술지인 유아교육연구, 열린유아교육연구, 유 아교육학논집의 게재된 논문 총 4,653편의 제목과 주제어를 수집하였으며, 키워드 분석, 토픽모 델링(LDA), Mann-Kendall 추세분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아교육학 분 야의 연구주제는 “교사” 관련 5개 토픽, “유아” 관련 7개 토픽, “교육” 관련 6개 토픽의 총 18개 의 토픽으로 분류되었다. 둘째, 각 연구주제별 비율은 고르게 분포되어 있었다. 그러나 연구주제 별 추세분석을 실시한 결과, ‘가족과 부모’, ‘교사 직무’, ‘예술과 창의인성’, ‘다양성과 권리존중’ 은 유아교육 연구에서 점차 그 비중이 높아지고 있으며, ‘수학적 탐구’, ‘교육 보육 정책’, ‘언어와 리터러시’, ‘교육실행과 변화’, ‘기관 운영 관리’, ‘과학적 탐구’는 점차 그 비율이 낮아지고 있었 다. 본 연구의 결과는 방대한 서지 정보를 토대로 유아교육학 분야의 주요 연구주제를 밝히고, 통계적 검증을 통해 주요 연구주제의 추세를 밝혔다는 점에서 학술적 의의를 갖는다.
Abstract
This study was conducted to examine the general research trends in early childhood education in Korea. To this end, titles and keywords were reviewed from a total of 4,653 papers published between 2005 and 2019 in the Korean Journal of Early Childhood Education, The Journal of Korea Open Association for Early Childhood Education, and Early Childhood Education Research & Review, which are major academic journals in early childhood education. Keyword analysis, topic modeling (LDA), and Mann - Kendall trend analysis were performed for the data. The results are as follows: First, research topics in early childhood education were classified into 18 topics centered on the keywords of “teacher,” “child,” and “education.” Second, the proportions of each research topic were evenly distributed. However, the proportions of “family and parents,” “teacher duties,” “art and creative personality” and “diversity and respect for rights” gradually increased in early childhood education research. Whereas, the proportions of “mathematical inquiry,” “education and childcare policy,” “language and literacy,” “education practice and change,” “organizational management” and “scientific inquiry” gradually decreased. The results of this study possess academic significance in that they reveal important research topics in early childhood education based on extensive bibliographic information, and reveal trends in research topics through statistical verification.
