본 연구는 18~36개월 영아와 어머니 40쌍을 대상으로 시간의 경과에 따른 어머니 양육관련 변 인이 어머니-영아 상호작용을 통해 영아 발달에 미치는 영향을 살펴보는데 주 목적을 두었다. 수 집된 자료 검증을 위하여 SPSS 23.0과 Process MACRO Model 4를 이용한 매개효과 분석을 실시 하였다. 도출된 연구 결과는 단기종단적 관점에서 Bornstein과 Tamis-LeMonda(1990)가 제시한 3 가지 경로 모델에 근거하여 해석하였으며 구체적인 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 후기(Time 2) 영아 의 각 발달 영역별로 주요 연구 변인들의 동시적 또는 누적적 영향력을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 초기(Time 1) 어머니 양육효능감과 이후 시기(Time 2)의 언어.인지발달 간의 관계에서 초기 (Time 1) 어머니의 상호작용 민감성은 부정적인 간접효과를, 이후 시기(Time 2)의 자율성 존중은 긍정적인 간접효과를 나타내었다. 이러한 결과는 주요 양육 변인이 시간의 경과에 따라 영아 발달 에 영향을 미치는 초기 경험(Model 1)과 동시적 경험(Model 2) 및 누적 경험 모델(Model 3)로 설 명될 수 있으며 생애 초기 영아 발달을 효과적으로 지원하기 위한 실증적인 연구를 제시한 점에 의의가 있다고 본다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate parenting process model by examining the pathways through which parenting variables influence infant development in 40 infant-mother pairs, with infants between 18 and 36 months of age. The collected data were validated by mediated effect analysis using SPSS 23.0 and Process MACRO Model 4. The results were interpreted based on the three path model proposed by Bornstein and Tamis-LeMonda (1990) from a short-term terminal perspective, and the specific details are as follows. First, simultaneous or cumulative influence of the primary variables was identified on the development of infants in the late pacing period (Time 2), where different factors influence each developmental domain. Second, this study examined the mediating effect of mother-infant interactions on the relationship between mothers’ perceived parenting efficacy and infants’ development over time. As a result, in the relationship between early maternal parenting efficacy and later language and cognitive development, mothers’ interaction sensitivity at the early stage (Time 1) had a negative indirect effect, while respect for autonomy at the later stage (Time 2) had a positive indirect effect. This findings explain a model of primary caregivers’ early experiences (Model 1), concurrent experiences (Model 2), and cumulative experiences (Model 3) of infants’ development over time. Furthermore, it is significant that this study presents an empirical research on how to effectively support the development of young children in the early stages of life.
