Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the structural relationships between job stress, mindfulness, and self-compassion among early childhood teachers, and to simultaneously analyze the parallel multiple mediation effects of each sub-factor of mindfulness. The subjects of this study were early childhood teachers nationwide, and a total of 478 responses were used in the final analysis. To test the parallel multiple mediation model, statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS 27.0 and the PROCESS Model 4. The results of this study are as follows. First, job stress among early childhood teachers showed a significant negative correlation with both mindfulness and self- compassion. Second, in the analysis of the parallel multiple mediation effects of the sub-factors of mindfulness in the relationship between job stress and self-compassion, non-judgmental acceptance and decentering were found to be non-significant. In contrast, present-moment awareness and attention focusing showed a significant positive relationship. The study revealed that the integrated properties of mindfulness mediate the relationship between job stress and self-compassion, but that sub-factors such as present-moment awareness and attention focusing are more influential psychological mechanisms than non-judgmental acceptance and decentering.
