셸링은 실존의 이유는 결코 이성에 의해 해명될 수 없다고 생각한다. 그렇다면 실존의 이유를 설명하기 위해서는 이성이 아니라 모든 사유에 선행하는 존재를 원리로 하는 학문이 있어야 한다. 셸링은 이 학문을 ‘긍정철학’(positive Philosophie)이라고 부른다. 하지만 긍정철학의 원리가 사유와 무관할 뿐만 아니라 오히려 사유에 선행하는 것이라면, 다음과 같은 물음이 발생한다. 즉 그러한 ‘사유 이전의 존재’로부터 어떻게 사유와 함께 시작되는 철학이 가능할 수 있는가? 이러한 물음은 긍정철학 자체의 가능성에 대한 문제를 제기한다. 본 논문에서는 긍정철학이 어떻게 가능한지를 고찰하며, 그 특성은 무엇인지를 서술한다.
Abstract
According to Schelling it can't be elucidated by reason why anything exists. Then there has to be a science which takes 'the Being preceding all the thinking'('the unvordenkliche Sein') to the principle for explaining why there is not nothing but anything. He calls the science 'positive Philosophy'. But if the principle of 'positive Philosophy' has noting to do with thinking and precedes all the thinking, then the following question is raised, because philosophy always starts with thinking, how is it possible that the philosophy begins with 'the unvordenkliches Sein'?This question suggests the problem on possibility of the establishment of 'positive Philosophy'. This paper tries to show how the 'positive Philosophy' is possible, and what is the meaning and characteristic of the Philosophy.
