변혁적 리더십은 부하직원들의 의식 가치관, 태도의 혁신 등을 추구하며, 그들의 가치체계와 신념체계를 지속적으로 변화시킴으로써 조직이나 집단의 성과를 높이는 것이다. 변화하는 치안 현실을 직시하고 경찰 서비스의 질적 경쟁력을 높이며, 경찰행정의 변화를 추구하기 위해서는 새로운 형태의 강력한 리더십이 요구된다. 조직의 리더는 조직의 목표를 달성하는데 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라, 조직 내 부하의 직무만족도에 영향을 주기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 경찰관서장의 변혁적 리더십이 직무 만족도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 경험적으로 규명하고 바람직한 방향을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 연구의 방법으로서 경찰관을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시한 후 관서장의 변혁적 리더십과 경찰직무태도와 관계를 분석하여 경찰관의 직무태도를 높을 수 있는 바람직한 관서장의 리더십을 제시하고자 하였다. 구체적 분석내용은 경찰관서장의 변혁적 리더십과 경찰관의 직무만족도의 전체적인 수준과 개별적 특성을 비교․분석하고, 경찰관서장의 변혁적 리더십 요인과 경찰관의 직무만족도간의 상관관계와 인과관계를 규명하고자 하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the impacts, positive(or negative) effect, difference of individual character between transformational leaderships and job satisfaction, and to find the most desirable perspectives among the various methods in order to improve job satisfaction of police. The results of this study indicate that, as predicted, the satisfaction of police is high, but the transformational of police chief is lower than average, in addition, the relationship between the satisfaction of police and the transformational of police chief represents positive relation(+), in conclusion, the transformational of police chief have influence on directly to subordinate's job satisfaction.
