종교개혁은 성서해석의 힘으로 시작되었다. 오늘의 개신교회는 성서해석을 통해 현상을 유지하고 있다. 이제는 우리의 성서해석의 정당성을 성서의 신학사상으로 재평가해볼 때이다. 국가문서, 제2성전시대문헌, 소수자의 보고로 묘사할 수 있는 구약성서 중 사경, 신명기역사, 아모서를 선택하여 힘 사용의 관점으로 읽어보면 그것들은 통치 집단의 권력을 자동적으로 재가하지 않고 정의, 평화, 생명의 빛에서 권력을 비평하는 기능을 가졌음을 알려준다. 구약성서는 이 세 가지 사상에 궁극적이고 절대적인 가치를 부여한다. 권력의 사용은 이 가치들을 추구하는 행위일 경우에 한해서 정당성을 부여받는다. 예수의 삶이 우리에게 보여준 것이 바로 이것이다. 우리교회의 성서해석자들이 힘/권력을 사용할 때 이 가치들을 추구한다면 현재의 위기를 돌파해갈 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
Reformation began with the power of biblical interpretation. Our church maintains its status quo through biblical interpretation. Now it is time to reevaluate our biblical interpretation in its legitimacy by biblical theological thoughts. Among the Old Testament literature that was mostly composed and preserved by the ruling elites, reading Tetrateuch, the Deuteronomistic history, and the book of Amos with regard to the use of power, tells that they did not sanction unconditionally the power of those ruling elites but conversely function to review it in light of justice, life, peace. The Old Testament puts the ultimate value on justice, life, and peace. The use of power can be legitimized only when one seeks such values. That is what the life of Jesus had shown to us. If biblical interpreters of our church only pursue these values in wielding power, it will lead our church to get out of current state of crisis.
