과잉윤리와 몰윤리 사이의 문학: 이청준의 ‘참기름 사건’과 『당신들의 천국』

Abstract

In Yi Chung-jun's works, poverty is a paradoxical object in that it is the same source of shame and pride. In his narratives, poverty works in opposing forces. First, it is a condition that enables the formation of the ethical subject. Second, it is a source of inferiority, and creates will for overcoming itself. The former that leads to the thought to make poverty the basis of self - esteem is the basis of literary position that Yi Chung - jun has stuck to, and forms the surface of his works. The later which leads to the thought that collective will is needed to overcome poverty is that of his generation’s reality existing under his skeptical view and becoming unconscious power in his own works. His novel, Your Paradise(당신들의 천국) is in a peculiar place in that it is a very exceptional one in his whole works and is also regarded as his representative masterpiece at the same time. Here, the power of excessive-ethics pursued by him and the other power of non-ethics possessed by the real world of modernity are intertwined together. This aspect is related to not only him but also his generation. This paper tract out the paradoxical aspect of ethics in Yi Chung-jun 's literarture by analyzing the ' sesame oil incident' and Your Paradise(당신들의 천국), which are intertwined with Yi Chung-jun, Kim Hyun and Kim Yun-sik.
