본 연구는 경찰공무원의 직무만족에 미치는 영향요인을 살펴보고자 하는 것이다. 특히, Herzberg의 동기ㆍ위생이론을 중심으로 경찰공무원의 직무만족도를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 동기요인의 하위요인으로는 승진, 인정감, 성장가능성, 책임감, 작업자체, 성취감 등으로 직무를 수행하는 것과 관련된 요인들을구성하였다. 위생요인의 하위요인으로는 직무안정성, 근무환경, 대인관계, 감독기술, 회사정책 등으로 직무의 환경적 특성관 관련된 요인들을 구성하였다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 2017년 09월 27일부터 10월 18일 동안실시된 경찰관 직무만족도 설문조사를 활용하였다. 연구결과, Herzberg의 동기ㆍ위생이론을 지지하는 것으로 동기요인이 직무만족에 영향을 미치는 것으로나타났다. 동기요인으로 제시된 승진, 인정감, 성장가능성, 책임감, 작업자체, 성취감의 모든 요인은 직무만족에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은연구결과를 토대로 경찰공무원의 직무만족도를 향상시킬 수 있는 정책적 제언을 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study aim s to examine the determinants of police officers' job satisfaction. Especially, this study empirically analyzed job satisfaction among police officers focusing on Herzberg's motivation-hygiene theory. Motivation factors consists of advancement, recognition, growth, responsibility, work itself, and achievement which are related to job performance. On the other hand, hygiene factors consists of work security, work condition, relationship with peers, supervision skills and company policy which are related to environmental characteristics. Police officers' job satisfaction survey conducted from September 27 to October 18, 2017 were used to accomplish the purpose of this study. The results of this study indicated that motivation factors significantly affect job satisfaction and it supported Herzberg's motivation-hygiene theory. All of motivation factors such as advancement, recognition, growth, responsibility, work itself, and achievement were found to affect job satisfaction among police officers. Based on the results of the study, policies to improve the job satisfaction among police officers were suggested.
