코로나 19 이후 세계 경제의 구조적인 변화가 우리 경제에 빠르게 영향을 미치고 있는 가운데, 세계 경제의 회복과 우리 경제의 회복의 주요 연관성을 나타내는 수출경쟁력을 연구하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 국내 제조업을 대상으로 구조적 변화와 산업별 수출경쟁력간의 관계를 살펴봄으로써 정책적 시사점을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 수출경쟁력에 영향을 미친 요인을 찾기 위해 현시비교우위지수를 수출경쟁력의 대리변수로 활용하여 실증분석한 결과가 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기본모형의 결과에서 연구재발투자, 자본생산성, 환율은 중요한 변수임을 확인하였다. 특히, 연구개발투자는 수출경쟁력에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났지만 저위기술산업에서는 유의성이 없는 것으로 나타나고 있어 기술수준이 높은 산업에서 연구개발투자를 확대하는 것이 수출경쟁력을 높일 수 있다는 것을 확인하였다. 둘째, 거시경제환경을 추가한 모형에서는 자본생산성은 수출경쟁력에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었지만 노동생산성은 모형에 따라 결과가 다르게 나타나고 있음을 확인하였다. 거시경제변수인 유가와 해외직접투자가 수출경쟁력에 영향을 미치는 주요한 요인임을 확인하였다. 셋째, 산업내 금융제약성 변수로 구조적인 변화와 수출경쟁력간의 관계를 살펴본 결과, 자본비율의 증가와 유형자산의 증가율, 부채비율의 증가는 수출경쟁력에 긍정적인 영향을 치미는 것으로 나타났다. 기술수준에 따른 결과에서는 자본지율의 증가와 유형자산의 증가율은 통계적 유의성이 없는 경우도 발견되어 금융제약요인으로는 부채비율이 미치는 영향이 가장 큰 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 지역경제통합과 수출경쟁력의 관계를 살펴봄으로써 그 지역마다 차이가 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구를 통해 우리나라의 수출경쟁력을 높이기 위해서는 우리와 교역하고 있는 국가의 거시경제환경을 파악하고 산업별로 그 특성이 다름을 바탕으로 산업별 정책이 실시되어야 한다는 사실을 확인하였다.
Abstract
In this study, the results of an empirical analysis using RCA to find factors affecting export competitiveness are as follows. In particular, significant effects of R&D investment and capital productivity were confirmed in the results of the basic model. Research and development has a positive effect on export competitiveness, but it is meaningless in low-tech industries, so we confirmed that expanding investment in research and development in high-technology industries can increase competitiveness. Second, in the model that added the macroeconomic environment, the macroeconomic variables oil price and foreign direct investment were identified as major factors affecting export competitiveness. Third, financial constraints within the industry were found to affect export competitiveness. In the results according to technology level, the increase in capital ratio and the growth rate of tangible assets were found to have no statistical significance, confirming that the debt ratio had the greatest impact among financial constraints. Additionally, by examining the relationship between regional economic integration and export competitiveness, we confirmed that there are differences depending on the region.
