협동과정으로서의 교과-비교과 연계 사례연구 - K대학 교양영어 KUGEP를 중심으로 -

이 연구는 충청권에 위치한 K대학의 교양영어인 KUGEP의 운영에 있어교과와 비교과 프로그램의 연계성을 조망하는 데 목적을 둔다. 비교과프로그램은 교과를 통해 충족하지 못하는 부분이나 학생들의 요구에 따라 추가적으로 보충할 부분을 지원하기 위해 개설하는 것을 목적으로 삼는다. 본고에서는 학생들이 교과 외에 선택할 수 있는 비교과 프로그램을 구성하는 과정적인 부분에서 운영 실태에 이르기까지 전반적인 논의를 도출하고자 한다. 이를 위해 K대학 글로컬 캠퍼스의 교양대학 영어분과에서 추진하고 있는 비교과 프로그램에 대해 2020년도 성과를 통해 설명하려 한다. 비교과 프로그램의 생성과정과 운영실태 및 결과치를 통해 어떠한 성과에 도달하였는지와 향후 추가적인 유의미한 프로그램 신설 등을 예측하는 것도 논의에포함한다.
Abstract
Konkuk University, Glocal Campus provides main 4 types of Academic English as Liberal Arts courses, which called KUGEP (Konkuk University Glocal Campus English Program) comprising KUGEP 1, 2, 3, and 4. They are academic courses, which have been operated since 2014. In addition to these courses, extra-curricular activities (ECA) are needed to secure and supplement lacking side of obligatory courses. Based on moot TOEIC scores, three ECA programs as co-curriculum were operated: tutoring, English JUMP, and KU TALK. They are classified according to the score distribution using the diagnostic evaluation results conducted in the subject. It was confirmed that academic courses and extra-curricular programs are properly linked in that students participated in the programs according to their respective needs. Moreover, this provides the opportunity and time to fill up students’ insufficient competency by achieving the set goal. The use of extra-curricular programs has played a significant role in enhancing satisfaction with academic courses, so if more budgets are secured in the future, we will make new proposals to operate additional extra-curricular programs and seek to proceed with more programs.
