본 연구는 2022 개정 교육과정에서도 핵심 개념이 교육과정의 설계 원리로 활용될 것으로예상되는 가운데, 빅 아이디어를 중심으로 음악 교과의 학습내용을 선정하고 조직하는 미국과 캐나다의 BC 주와 온타리오 주의 음악 교육과정을 대상으로 이들 교육과정의 내용과 기준이 어떻게 제시되어 있는지 살펴보고 이를 비교하여 시사점을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 빅 아이디어의 의미와 역할, 2015 개정 음악과 교육과정의 내용 체계의 구성과문제점을 살펴본 후, 미국 국가핵심 음악기준, 캐나다 BC 주와 온타리오 주의 음악 교육과정의 내용과 기준의 제시 방식을 분석하고 비교한다. 향후 빅 아이디어 중심 음악 교육과정의내용과 기준 구성에 대한 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교육과정 문해력을 높이기 위해 음악교육과정 구성 체계와 음악 수업의 연결성에 대해 명료하고 구조적으로 제시할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 핵심 개념을 교육과정의 내용 체계 내 맥락에서보다 빅 아이디어의 관점에서 이해하고, 핵심 개념과 일반화의 관계를 재정립할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 음악 교과의 탐구 과정을 설정하여 기능을 제시하고, 이를 바탕으로 수행기준 및 학습 결과를 분류하고 도출함으로써 기능과성취기준의 관련성을 제시할 수 있다. 넷째, 교육과정 문서의 독자들의 이해를 위해 내용 요소와 성취기준을 부연 설명, 활동 예시, 질문 등과 함께 제시할 수 있다.
Abstract
In a situation where core concepts are expected to be used as the organizers of the curriculum in the 2022 revised curriculum, this study aims to examine how the contents and standards of the music curriculum in the U. S. and British Columbia and Ontario in Canada are presented, and to provide implications by comparing them. To this end, we first examined the meaning and role of big ideas, and reviewed the content system of the 2015 revised music curriculum and its problems. Then, we analyzed and compared the contents and standards of the music curriculum in the U. S. and Canada. The implications for the composition of the contents and standards of the music curriculum based on big ideas in the future are as follows. First, in order to improve curriculum literacy, it is necessary to present clearly and structurally the connection between music curriculum and music classes. Second, it is necessary to understand the core concepts from the perspective of big ideas rather than from the context within the content system of the curriculum, and to re-establish the relationship between the core concepts and the generalization. Third, the skills are presented by setting the inquiry process of the music subject, and based on this process, the relationship between skills and achievement standards can be presented by classifying and deriving performance standards and learning outcomes. Fourth, for the reader's understanding of the curriculum document, the elements of the content and achievement standards can be presented along with additional explanations, activity examples, and questions.
