Abstract
This study aimed to explore the transformation of the university education system following the introduction of the Autonomous Major Selection System and to identify key challenges and improvement measures for its operation. This study conducted an open-ended survey with 38 experts and analyzed text data through a TNA(Text Network Analysis). The results are as follows. The analysis results revealed semantic structures of ‘system and institution’, ‘Academic Advisor’, and ‘curriculum’ in the preparation phase of the Autonomous Major Selection System; ‘curriculum’, ‘career path’, ‘support program’, and ‘learning’ in liberal arts education; and ‘major exploration’, ‘curriculum’, ‘support program’, ‘course completion’, and ‘project’ in major education. These findings indicate that the Autonomous Major Selection System should function as a strategic platform capable of realizing student-led career design and university education innovation, going beyond simply guaranteeing flexibility in major selection. Therefore, it is necessary to establish an organizational foundation for the stable operation of the system, allocate dedicated personnel, change educational operation methods, and strengthen support systems such as counseling and information provision. Future research should involve diverse case analyses and verification of long-term effects.
