특성화 전문대학생의 고용가능성과 현장중심 교육과정 및 학습몰입의 구조적 관계: 특성화 Ⅲ유형 최우수 전문대학을 중심으로

초록

본 연구는 특성화 전문대학생의 고용가능성과 현장중심 교육과정 및 학습몰입의 구조적 관계를 구명하는데 그 목적이 있었다. 이 연구의 모집단은 전체 특성화 전문대학생이며 목표 모집단은 특성화 전문대학육성사업(Ⅲ유형)에서 최우수 평가를 받은 2개의 전문대학 재학생을 선정하였다. 자료의 수집은 목표 모집단을 대상으로 1주일 간 진행하였으며, 각 대학의 전공 계열별 모집정원 비율을 고려하여 총 300명을 비율표집한 후, 회수된 260개의 응답을 분석하였다. 자료의 수집은 고용가능성(구직능력, 구직자신감, 노동수요 인식, 취업 기대수준 조정), 현장중심 교육과정(교육과정의 실용성, 교육과정의 유용성, 학습전이 기회제공), 학습몰입 및 인구통계학적 특성으로 구성된 설문지를 활용하였다. 수집된 자료는 기술통계 및 구조방정식 모형을 이용하여 분석하였으며, 구체적인 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 특성화 전문대학생의 고용가능성과 현장중심 교육과정 및 학습몰입 간의 인과모형의 적합도가 모두 양호하여 변인 간의 인과관계는 타당하게 예측되었다. 둘째, 특성화 전문대학의 현장중심 교육과정과 학습몰입은 고용가능성에 직접적으로 정(+)적인 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 특성화 전문대학생의 학습몰입은 고용가능성과 현장중심 교육과정의 관계를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 교육과정 운영의 체제이론인 투입-과정-산출의 관점에서 투입 요소인 현장중심 교육과정은 학습몰입을 더욱 더 촉진시키고, 결과적으로 학습의 성과인 고용가능성에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 특성화 전문대학육성사업에서 강조하고 있는 국가직무능력표준(NCS)을 기반으로 하는 실용성과 유용성을 갖추고 실무에 활용될 수 있는 기회가 많은 현장중심의 교육과정 운영을 통해 학생들의 스펙보다는 산업현장에서 요구하는 실제 직무능력의 완성도가 높은 인력을 효과적으로 양성할 수 있다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the structural relationship among employability, field based curriculum and learning engagement of specialized college students. The population of this study was the students of specialized colleges and target population was two best college students in type Ⅲ. With the ratio sampling methods, 300 undergraduates were drawn from this target population. Among the samples, 260 responses were analyzed for descriptive statistics and structural equation model. A survey questionnaire was used to measure the variables of this study. The survey questionnaire was consisted of employability, field based curriculum, learning engagement and demographic characters. The findings from the analysis were as follows: First, the goodness-of-fit of hypothetical structural model of employability, field based curriculum and learning engagement was satisfactory which confirmed the structural relationships of variables. Second, field based curriculum had a direct effect on employability and learning engagement also had a direct effect on employability. Third, the relationship between field based curriculum and employability was partially mediated by learning engagement. From the results, the following conclusion was made. Employability development process was not a simple relationship from the input(field based curriculum) to output(employability), but complicated relationships from input(field based curriculum) to process(learning engagement) and finally to output(employability). Learning engagement was essential in the process from field based curriculum to employability. So specialized colleges must develop the field based curriculum and made the proper intervention for improving learning engagement.
