본 연구는 구약 잠언서에 대한 해석학적 제안으로 세 가지접근법을 제안한다: 주제적, 전체론적, 세부적 접근법. 이러한접근법을 구체적으로 설명하기 위해 잠언 안의 인간관계의 핵심인“우정”이라는 주제를 예를 들어 세 가지 접근법을 적용하고자한다. 주제적 접근(topical approach)은 잠언이 전하고자 하는특정한 주제에 대한 포괄적 이해를 돕기 위한 해석학적 접근이다. 잠언서의 문학적 특징인 유사한 잠언의 반복을 해석학적으로사용하여 보다 더 포괄적인 잠언의 메시지를 찾아보고자 하는것이 이 주제별 접근의 목적이라 할 수 있다. 두 번째의 방법론은전체론적 접근(macro-level approach)으로, 잠언 1-9장과 10-31장이 갖는 이중적 구조를 “일반적-구체적” 원리로 접근하여 잠언1-9장은 다양한 삶의 원리에 대하여 일반적인 진술을 제시하는 반면, 10-31장은 개별적 잠언들을 통해 구체적이고 실제적인 적용과 예를제시하고 있음을 주장한다. 이러한 문학적 이중구조를 바탕으로“우정”이라는 주제를 분석하여 잠언의 내재적인 문학구조 속에서인간관계의 가르침을 살펴보고자 한다. 마지막으로 세부적 접근(micro-level approach)은 잠언 안에 나타나는 개별잠언들이 아무런문학적 통일성 없이 배열된 것이 아니라 다양한 형태의 문학적연결성(예를 들면, 주제, 키워드, 단어쌍, 대조, 문학적 상황 등)으로서로 연결되어 있음을 전제로 하여 개별잠언들 가운데 의미단락을찾고 그것을 세부적으로 분석하는 접근법이다. 이러한 세 가지 접근법은 이론적이라기보다는 실질적인 것으로, 잠언서를 잠언서의 문학적/신학적 구조 속에서 해석하고 설교하는 데 큰 도움이 될 것이다.
Abstract
The book of Proverbs has intrinsic difficulties due to its literary feature that it consists of a number of discrete sections. The literary incoherence causes difficulties for understanding not only its individual meaning, but also meaning of the text as a whole. As a hermeneutical suggestion for Proverbs, this study proposes three approaches to the book of Proverbs: topical, macro-level, and micro-level approaches. In oder to apply these approaches, this study will utilize the theme of friendship in the book of Proverbs. First of all, the topical approach intends to analyze specific theme in Proverbs in a holistic way. It takes a recurring theme in Proverbs and isolates the relavant proverbial sayings, then reorganizes the collected sayings by repetitions and thematic importance. This approach helps the readers interact with the entire text when they deal with a specific topic. Secondly, macro-level approach adopts the literary thesis that Proverbs 1-9 plays an introductory role for Proverbs 10-31. In the application of this hermeneutical principle, this study argues that chs. 1-9 contains general and abstract principles on life and chs. 10-31 express concrete and practical teachings on life principles. Thirdly, micro-level approach analyzes proverbial sayings based on both thematic coherence and structural coherence. To apply this approach, this study analyzes Prov 27:1–17 and argues that Prov 27:1-17 forms a friendship poem based on an evident thematic coherence (i.e., “true friendship”) and syntactic cohesion(i.e., a “proverb poem”).
