최근 북한의 핵 위협이 고조되고, 한반도를 둘러싼 안보 환경이 급변하면서 전술핵 배치 논의와 함께 국민의 안보의식 및 국방신뢰의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 본 연구는 대한민국 국민을 대상으로 전술핵 배치 인식이 안보의식에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하고, 이 관계에서 국방신뢰의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 분석 결과, 전술핵 배치 인식은 안보의식에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤으며, 국방신뢰는 이 관계를 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 국민이 국가의 국방체계에 갖는 신뢰가 안보의식 형성과 강화에 핵심적 역할을 한다는 점을 시사하며, 국민적 공감대와 국방신뢰를 기반으로 한 안보정책 수립의 필요성을 제기한다.
Abstract
Amid escalating nuclear threats from North Korea and a rapidly shifting security landscape on the Korean Peninsula, this study explores the effects of public perception of tactical nuclear deployment on national security awareness. Using empirical analysis, it examines whether trust in national defense mediates this relationship. The findings reveal that perception of tactical nuclear deployment significantly influences security awareness and that trust in national defense plays a partial mediating role. These results imply that public attitudes toward nuclear policy are deeply influenced by the degree of trust in the nation’s defense system. The study highlights the need to formulate national security strategies based on public consensus and to enhance their effectiveness through increased defense trust.
