문화성향이 기부지속성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 - 제주지역 개인기부자를 중심으로 -

본 논문은 제주도내 기부경험이 있는 정기기부자와 비정기기부자를 대상으로 문화성향이 기부지속성에 미치는 영향을 조사, 분석하여 기부지속성 유지 및 기부활성화 방안을 제안하는 연구이다. 타 지역에 비해 개인기부 비율이 월등히 높은 제주지역을 대상으로 기부지속성에 미치는 영향을 파악함에 있어 문화성향을 독립변인으로 사용하여 실증분석을 하였다. 제주도내에 거주하는 18세 이상 기부경험자(n=530명)를 대상으로 구조화된 설문지를 통해 응답자의 문화성향, 기부지속성의 인식수준과 문화성향이 기부지속성에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 주요 분석결과를 요약하면, 첫째, 수직적 개인주의와 수평적 집단주의는 기부 특성에 따른 문화성향의 인식에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않은 반면, 수평적 개인주의의 경우, 정기적 기부여부에 대해 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났고, 수직적 집단주의의 경우, 월평균 기부액에 따라 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 7만 원 이상 기부자가 7만원 미만 기부자에 비해 기부지속성, 기부횟수, 기부금액, 기부지속의향, 기부추천의향 모두 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 문화성향이 기부지속성에 미치는 상대적 영향력을 살펴보면 집단주의에 비해 개인주의 성향일수록 기부횟수가 높은 것으로 나타났고, 집단주의에 비해 개인주의 성향일수록 기부금액이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 개인주의 성향일수록 기부지속성이 높은 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the influencing factors on the continuity of individual donations by utilizing the cultural inclination that can represent local society’s unique lifestyle and culture. In other words, this study is based on the awareness of the fact that individual donations can be influenced by not only individual factors such as donation intention and donation motives, but also by tangible and intangible assets, including cultural inclination. The subject of this study is general residents of Jeju, who are at least 18 years of age and who have donated before. I distributed 550 survey questionnaires and analyzed 530 data, except for 20 unanswered and incomplete questionnaires. The results are as follows. Among cultural inclination factors, vertical individualism and horizontal individualism have statistically positive influences on donation continuity. This fact does not fit preceding research that the stronger the collectivist tendency, the higher the chance of altruistic expression. And, if donations are altruistic sharing to social value, collectivist tendency highly influences the continuity of donations. It can be said that the result is caused by Jeju’s own unique cultural inclination, but this may be the point that needs further investigation to determine whether there is another factor that can explain cultural inclination and donation continuity. This research verified that the higher the vertical individualism and horizontal individualism, the higher the donation continuity. This result suggests that cultural inclination is the influencing factor on donation continuity. Especially, as it is confirmed that cultural inclination is a useful variable in explaining donation continuity, individual cultural inclination should be considered in order to encourage donation continuity.
