제주 화전 문화의 발굴과 활용에 관한 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to discover and utilize the cultural contents of slash-and-burn cultivation in Jeju. The study of modern history in the Jeju should stem from the study of slash-and-burn cultivation, and the study of slash-and-burn cultivation‧ farmer are key heritage that can reveal the reality of Jeju's modern history. However, research of Jeju’s slash-and-burn fields and social interest are low. Few basic surveys and studies have been conducted on how Korean slash-and-burn cultivation agriculture, which is believed to have originated from the Silla Dynasty, has adapted and changed according to the natural conditions, geographical environment, and changes in agricultural technology of Jeju Island, and what its original form is now. Therefore, we should systematically examine various slash-and-burn cultivation and farmer on the Korean Peninsula, and based on this, we should study the historical transformation process, cultivation method, and lifestyle, culture, and folklore of slash-and-burn cultivation farmer in Jeju Island. The basic step for this, "Discovery and Utilization of Jeju-do slash-and-burn cultivation Culture," can be carried out in various forms based on the lives of slash-and-burn cultivation village and people. First of all, it is necessary to produce cultural contents for slash-and-burn cultivation farmer using the slash-and-burn cultivation culture of Jeju Island. For example, slash-and-burn cultivation farming method, house, charcoal baking and hunting, and herbal digging can be important key words for understanding slash-and-burn cultivation culture. In this way, it is necessary to expand the understanding and awareness of Jeju slash-and-burn cultivation and farmer through the development and utilization of various cultural contents based on Jeju slash-and-burn cultivation culture, and activation of dark tourism. To this end, this paper will first examine the historical origins of the slash-and-burn cultivation, and then summarize the lives and culture of the slash-and-burn cultivation people in Jeju. Based on this, I would like to present specific measures for the discovery and utilization of Jeju slash-and-burn cultivation culture; cultural content production and dark tourism.
