도덕과교육을 통한 사이버 불링(Cyber bullying) 예방 방안

사이버 불링은 인터넷, 상호작용적인 디지털 기술, 휴대 전화를 사용하여 다른 사람을 고문ㆍ위협하며 괴롭히거나 모욕감을 주는 공격 행동을 의미한다. 사이버 불링은 인터넷 역기능의 대표적인 현상 가운데 하나인 동시에 새로운 청소년 문제로 급부상하고 있다. 이에 이 논문에서는 사이버 불링에 관한 최근의 연구 결과들에 대한 문헌 분석에 근거하여 사이버 불링의 특성과 실태에 대해 살펴보고, 도덕과교육을 통한 사이버 불링 예방 방안을 제시하였다. 도덕성과 사이버 불링의 관계를 고려할 때, 공감 수준과 도덕적 민감성이 낮을수록 그리고 도덕적 이탈 수준이 높을수록 사이버 불링에 관여할 가능성이 크다. 그러므로 도덕 교과를 통한 사이버 불링 예방교육은 내용 통합의 측면에서 사이버 불링 관련 내용을 기존의 가치ㆍ덕목과 연계하여 가르치는 것이 바람직하다. 그리고 교수 방법의 측면에서는 도덕적 민감성을 제고하는 활동, 도덕적 이탈 방지 활동, 도덕적 강도를 활용한 의사결정 과정을 중시하는 활동에 초점을 맞추어 도덕 수업을 전개하는 것이 효과적이다.

Abstract

Cyber bullying is generally considered to be bullying using technology such as the Internet and mobile phones. Nowadays cyber bullying has been identified as an important problem amongst youth. Thus preventing cyber bullying in moral education is urgently needed. Based on current literature reviews on cyber bullying, the aim of this article was to present methods of moral education for preventing cyber bullying. In relation to cyber bullying, several studies have shown that lower levels of empathy and moral sensitivity are associated with higher frequency of cyber bullying behaviors. In a similar vein, higher levels of moral disengagement are associated with higher frequency of cyber bullying. Regarding prevention strategies in moral education, I finally conceptualized two tasks of moral education in terms of teaching contents and teaching methods. The inclusion of cyber bulling into curricula and textbooks of moral education is an effective way to prevent cyber bullying. Teaching methods focusing on raising students' level of moral sensitivity, lowering their levels of moral disengagement, and decision-making based on moral intensity are also needed to prevent cyber bullying.
