Abstract

This study investigates a relationship between employee turnover rates and firm performance. In particular, this study departs from the extant studies that explored the relationship between total employee turnover rates and firm performance by examining the differing impacts of high performer turnover rates and non-high performer turnover rates on firm performance. In addition, this study explores the moderation roles of non-high performer turnover rates on the relationship between high performer turnover rates and firm performance. Hypothesis testing was conducted with 155 firms. This study contributes to better understanding complex relationships between employee turnover rates and firm performance and provides practical implications for firms that strive to create values and survive under the current turbulent business environment.
