본 연구는 수도권과 부울경 지역을 중심으로 Log Mean Divisia Index(LMDI) 접근 방식을 이용하여 지역 간 제조업 에너지소비 패턴을 비교 분석하였다. 2013년부터 2022년까지 총 10년간의 데이터를 활용하여 에너지소비 변화를 생산효과, 구조효과, 집약도효과 총 3가지 요인으로 분해하였다. 요인분해분석 결과, 수도권과 부울경 지역의 에너지소비 증가 패턴이 상이하게 나타났다. 수도권과 전국의 제조업 에너지소비 증가는 생산효과와 구조효과가 주도한 반면, 부울경 지역에서는 집약도효과가 주요 요인으로 작용했다. 또한, 소비 감소 요인에서도 수도권은 집약도효과, 부울경은 생산효과와 구조효과가 영향을 미치는 등 지역별 차별성이 확인되었다. 이러한 결과는 제조업의 에너지소비 패턴이 각 지역의 특성과 상황에 따라 상이할 수 있음을 보여주며, 향후 부울경 지역의 효과적인 에너지 절감을 위해선 지역의 특성을 반영한 맞춤형 정책이 필요함을 시사한다.
Abstract
This study analyzes the regional differences in energy consumption patterns in the manufacturing industries between the Seoul Metropolitan area and the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam (Bu-Ul-Gyeong) region using the Log Mean Divisia Index (LMDI) approach. Utilizing data from 2013 to 2022, energy consumption changes were decomposed into three key factors: production effect, structural effect, and intensity effect. The results indicate distinct differences in the drivers of energy consumption growth between the two regions. The increase in manufacturing energy consumption in the Seoul Metropolitan area and nationwide was primarily driven by the production and structural effects, while the intensity effect was the main factor in the Bu-Ul-Gyeong region. Similarly, regional differences in consumption decline were also identified, with the Seoul Metropolitan area being influenced by the intensity effect and the Bu-Ul-Gyeong region by the production and structural effects. These results show that the energy consumption pattern of the manufacturing industry may differ depending on the characteristics and circumstances of each region, suggesting that customized policies reflecting regional characteristics are needed to effectively reduce energy consumption in the Bu-Ul-Gyeong region.
