2009년에 개봉한 박찬옥 감독의 영화 <파주>는 많은 해석의 여지를 가지고 있으며 그 만큼의 성과를 보여준 영화이다. 특히 시간에 대한 박찬옥의 사유는 <파주>에서 뚜렷이 나타난다. 먼저 시간에 대한 자막이 특별하게 사용되며 전작에서는 볼 수 없었던 고속 촬영의 기법에서도 그녀의 성찰을 살펴볼 수 있다. 시간에 대한 그녀의 성찰은 크리스탈－이미지에서정점에 달한다. 몇 번의 장면에서 주인공의 과거와 현재, 기억과 지각, 현실태와 잠재태는 뒤섞이며 식별 불가능해진다. 그러한 장면들에서 들뢰즈가 제시한 크리스탈－이미지의 개념이 어떻게 적용될 수 있는지 구체적인장면분석을 통해 적용시켜 고찰한다. 그리고 이러한 크리스탈－이미지의사용은 박찬옥 감독이 전작들에서부터 줄기차게 던져온 작가의 화두와 맞닿아 있다. 우리가 믿고 있는 삶의 가치가 진정한 가치인지 묻고 있는 그녀의 화두와 크리스탈－이미지가 어떻게 연결될 수 있는지 살펴본다.
Abstract
Director Chan-Ok Park’s film Paju showed an excellent result among the recent Korean Films. She has continuously thrown on a question to adhere to value of true life in boundaries. Truth appears with any figures in our life, and a basis of the judgment of value is anything? Outsides of this film, love of an elder sister’s husband and wife’s younger sister looks important. But this film isn’t a story of their love. The depths of Paju is very thick. Especially, Her thought of time is surprising. Her struggle to shake value reaches to the image-crystal. Thought moves along tubes in time. She make a crevice to faith of Chronicle time controlled by us through image-crystal. In this study, I will consider it about the image-crystal that Deleuze presented and how to this image can be applied the Paju, and how this image can be connected to the question she continuously has thrown.
