이 논문의 목적은 김수영 시론의 특징적 양상을 살펴보는 데 있다. 김수영은 1960년대에 우리 시론사에서 매우 중요하게 평가되는 글들을 발표하였다. 김수영의 시론에 대한 기존의 연구는 참여문학의 맥락에서 이루어졌다. 그러나 그의 시론은 참여문학과 순수문학을 아우르는 독특한 관점에 토대를 두고 있다. 김수영 시론의 독특함은 현대성과 부정성에 대한 김수영의 도저한 이해에 있다는 것이 이 논문의 주요한 논지이다. 이 논문에서는 특히 김수영이 작고하기 이전에 시도한 변화의 양상에 주목하였다. 그러한 변화를 이해하기 위해서 김수영 시론과 서구의 다양한 시론들과의 영향관계를 살펴보았다. 김수영은 알렌 테잇(Allen Tate)의 영향을 받았으나 후기에는 하이데거(M. Heidegger)의 예술론에 대해서도 많은 관심을 기울였다. 이 논문에서는 현대성에 대한 정확한 이해에 바탕을 둔 김수영이 하이데거의 예술론과의 만남을 통해 시도했던 변화의 양상에도 주목하였다.
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to examine Kim Suyông’s literary thought that is well balanced between political and aesthetical concern in lit- erature. In 1960s, Kim wrote several essays highly important in modern Korean literary thought. Most scholars so far have sorely focused on his idea of social participation through writings. Unlike these scholars, I investigated him assuming that his thought on poetry is based on his belief that literature is highly political as well as aesthetical. Besides, I claimed that his thought on poetry is at the result of his profound understanding of modernity and the spirit of denial. I also focused on the change of his thought showed at the end of his life. In order to confirm such change, I looked over the influence of the diverse Western literary thoughts revealed in his works. In his early days Kim was influenced from Allen Tate, but in his late days he became highly interested in M. Heidegger’s aesthetics. At the end of this paper I tried to show how his thought was changed after he encountered Heidegger.
