1960년대 소설의 주체와 지식인적 정체성

Abstract

I examined in this paper the social characters of the subject newly formed in novels of the 1960s, focucing on Choi, In－hoon(1936~), Kim, Seung－ok(1941~), and Park, Tae－soon(1942~)’s novels. As we know, the subject is formed in the relation with its social situation. It is suggested in this paper that the subjcet, created by the 1960s’ novels, is not a vague individual but a intellectual. As it were, understanding the subject of the 1960s’ novels can not help beginning to ask what contexts the being of intellectuals was placed in, what manners it was captured by, for each writers’ works. In Choi and Kim’s works, mechanism of the intellectual consciousness and behavior was expressed as “the principle of spiritual triumph” and “the passion of begger.” Seaching of new form, Park also failed to overcome this inclination. Here temporal difference is. While Choi and Kim drew intellecuals of the early 1960s, Park drew those of the latter. Besides, selves of characters were very excessive and were deeply projected on writers’ existential appearance, which reflected on the being situation of writers and intellectuals in the 1960s.
