본 연구는 문(文)에 대한 새로운 인식과 이론으로서 근대적 미문(美文)이 형성하는 과정을 일본의 수사학자들을 통해 살펴보고 그것이 당대 출간된 조선어 작문법에 끼친 영향에 대해 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 근대적 미문(美文) 논의가 이론적으로 형성되는 과정을 추적하고 그것이 조선어 작문법에 끼친 영향을 토대로 그 의의를 분석하였다. 18~19세기 서구에서는 수사학이 작문법과 결합하는 과정에서 미문에 대한 논의들이 출현했으며, 이는 일본의 미사학(美辭學)과 실용작문법(實用作文法)의 출현에 많은 영향을 끼쳤다. 특히 시마무라의 『신미사학(新美辭學)』은 수사학에 대한 서구적 개념을 일본에 소개함으로써 근대적 미문 인식의 형성에 많은 영향을 끼친다. 아울러 『신미사학(新美辭學)』의 논의들은 최재학의 『실지응용작문법(實地應用作文法)』(1909)을 통해 국내에 일부 유입되었다. 실용작문법에 대한 논의는 일본의 경우 구보 도쿠지의 『실용작문법(實用作文法)』(1906)을 통해 체계화됐으며 이는 이각종의 『실용작문법(實用作文法)』(1912)을 통해 국내에 유입되었다. 이후 미문에 대한 논의는 대중적 문체와 예술적 문체로 분화되는 양상으로 발전하였고, 1920년대 말부터 1930년대 말까지 조선어 작문법에 많은 영향을 끼쳤다.
Abstract
This study aims to examine a development of modern Mi-moon(美文) and its theory as the new consciousness of the text(文) by reviewing the western and Japanese rhetoricians and searching the Korean writing text at that time. To achieve this purpose, at first it pursues the process of a theories’ development of modern Mi-moon and its effects on Korean writing. It searches the process of combination rhetoric and writing in 18~19C Western and the aspects of differentiation Misahak(美辭學) and Silyongjangmunbeop(實用作文法) in Japan. The Sinmisahak(新美辭學 1902) of Simamura Hougetsu was the translator of western rhetoric concept into modern Japan assumed a role. It also make good in the theoretical field of writing at that times. It had a effect on the Siljieungyongjangmunbeop(實地應用作文法 1909) of Choi Jae-Hak. Then Silyongjangmunbeop(實用作文法 1906) of Kubo Tokuji devised a useful theory of writing. It also had a effect on the Silyongjangmunbeop(實用作文法 1912) of Yi Gak-Jong. and than a arguments of Mi-moon were divided into popular style and artistic style, and examined the systematization’s process of a consciousness of modern style in Korean writing textbook and its effects on Korean writing.
