한국제조기업의 전략적 글로벌 공급체인관리(SCM)와 시장성과: 주요 트렌드와 유연성을 중심으로

최근 산업별 글로벌 리딩기업들이 차별적 경쟁력 확보를 위해 전략적 글로벌 SCM을 적극 추진하고 있다. 본 연구는 전략적 글로벌 SCM의 주요 트렌드와 성과(유연성) 간의 관계를 실증 분석함으로써 SCM의 새로운 전략적 패러다임을 이론적으로 제시하고, SCM이 기업의 글로벌 경쟁우위를 제고시키는 핵심역량이 될 수 있도록 전략적 대안을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 한국제조기업들을 대상으로 전략적 글로벌 SCM의 주요 트렌드인 탄력성, 친환경성, 고객지향성 요인이 차세대 SCM의 주요 목표이자 성과인 유연성 확보에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 검증하기 위해 3개의 연구가설을 설정한 후 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 탄력성과 고객지향성 요인이 통계적으로 유의하게 나타남으로써 공급망의 탄력성과 고객지향성이 높을수록 SCM의 유연성이 강화될 것이라는 가설들을 지지한다. 반면 친환경성은 유의수준이 낮아 공급망의 유연성 확보에 어떠한 영향도 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 앞으로 기업이 고객의 다양한 환경적 요구를 충족시키기 위해서는 친환경적 공급망 구축에 대한 관심을 더욱 높일 필요가 있다.
Abstract
This paper analyzes the mega trends that are critical to the success of future global SCM. I proposed a model that describes how the mega trends affect flexibility of the supply chain based on the existing studies of SCM. Then, I tested a set of hypotheses using a sample of 45 Korean manufacturing firms' strategic global SCM cases. The result shows that elasticity and customer-orientation are crucial to ensure flexibility of the supply chain. However, contrary to my expectation, the result does not confirm the effects of environmental-friendliness on the flexibility of the supply chain.
