Abstract
This research purposes to analyze the determinants of subsidiary reverse knowledge transfer by using the cases of foreign subsidiaries in Korea. The strategic role of subsidiary in MNC is very important in these days. I suppose that this phenomenon is caused by subsidiary reverse knowledge transfer. In this paper, I suggested three factors as determinants of on subsidiary reverse knowledge transfer, ① subsidiary knowledge creation, ② the strength of subsidiary in a MNC network, ③ subsidiary's social capital, and estimated the effect of three factors on subsidiary reverse knowledge transfer. My findings indicate that subsidiary knowledge creation and the strength of subsidiary in a MNC network can positively influence on subsidiary reverse knowledge transfer. However, I found no support for the effect of subsidiary's social capital on that. I discuss the implication of my analysis for motivating subsidiary reverse knowledge transfer in the context of MNC global competitiveness.
