Abstract
According to the theory of internalization, this study considers reverse knowledge transfer(RKT) as the knowledge management process between multinational corporation's(MNC) foreign subsidiaries and headquarters and reviews elements to enhance the effectiveness in every RKT process in the perspective of foreign subsidiaries and headquarters. This study considers RKT as knowledge management process which includes foreign subsidiaries' knowledge creation, transferring subsidiaries' knowledge to headquarters, and utilizing subsidiaries' knowledge in HQ. In the process of subsidiaries' knowledge creation and transferring subsidiaries' knowledge to HQ, this study reviews communication effectiveness and moderating effect of knowledge relevance between HQ and subsidiaries. In the process of transferring subsidiaries' knowledge to HQ and utilizing subsidiaries' knowledge in HQ, this study reviews HQ's moderating effect of absorptive capability. To this end, this study surveyed 195 MNC's foreign subsidiaries and headquarters using AMOS(7.0 version) and SPSS(15.0 version) to analyze collected data. Analysis confirms that RKT is knowledge management process which is the process of transferring created marketing knowledge to HQ. In addition, moderating effect of official or non-official communication effectiveness between HQ and subsidiaries was confirmed in the process of transferring marketing knowledge created by foreign subsidiaries to HQ. This study reveals that absorptive capability of HQ during the course of utilizing transferred marketing knowledge plays as moderating effect. However, knowledge relevance between HQ and subsidiaries has no proven moderating effect in the process of transferring marketing knowledge created by foreign subsidiaries to HQ.
