Reference Values for sALP(Skeletal Alkaline Phosphatase) among Some Healthy Korean Women

Abstract
sALP(Skeletal Alkaline Phosphatase), a tetrameric glycoprotein is localized in the plasma membrane of the Osteoblast and is released into the circulation as a dimer. Serum level of sALP are believed to reflect the metabolic state of osteoblast. We measured serum sALP with a immunoradiometric assay(IRMA} in a large sample of healthy korean women. In this study we have analyzed reference values of sALPobtained from some healthy korean women by means of AIC(Akaike’s Information Criterion) method. Following results were obtained. 1. In total group, it had showen that the optimal model for normal distribution was the power function [f(x)=ln(x)] with reference range of 5 - 31 μg/L. 2. Power function were the predominant one in all age groups, with reference ranges of 5 - 18μg/L, 5 - 23μg/L, 6 - 32μg/L， 6 - 30μg/L in 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s of female.
