Abstract
We determined the reference intervals of eleven clinical biochemical tests, including glucose, blood urea nitrogen(BUN), creatinine, uric acid, protein, albumin, aspartic aminotransferase(AST), alanine aminotransferase(ALT) , alkaline phosphatase(ALP), lactic dehydrogenase(LDH) and r- glutamyl transpeptidase(GGT) over 2,000 healthy Korean individuals according to the NCCLS guide line C28- P.’ 92. The data of reference intervals in men and women were 85.9±4.12, 86.2±4.16 mg/dl of glucose, 13.70±3.27, 12.59±3.07 mg/dl of BUN, 1.05±0.11, 0.83±0.07 mg/dl of creatinine, 5.4 ±0.99, 4.10±0.78 mg/dl of uric acid, 7.08±0.68, 7.14±0.68 g/ dl of protein, 4.29± 0.24, 4.25±0.22 g/ dl of albumin, 20.1±4.25, 17.1±3.81 U/ℓ of AST, 18.3 ± 7.21, 13.1±3.90U/of ALT, 89.7 ± 43.88, 87.8±40 .49 U/ℓ of ALP, 171±72, 202±83 U/ℓ of LDH and 20.91±0.78, 13.2±5.08 IU/ℓ of GGT, respectively. This results show no significance with previous data reported. However, these data might be useful for the database study of clinical biochemical tests for Korean individuals.
