한국사회의 문화적 혼재화 유형에 대한 연구- “민족지향”과 “국가지향” 가치관의 갈등을 중심으로 -

본 연구의 목적은 개인의 집단적 정체의식의 핵심적 두 축을 이루는 '국가지향' 가치와 '민족지향; 가치가 한 민족, 두 국가라는 분단 상황 속에서 어떤 식으로 한국 사회의 문화 체계 속에 구조화되어 있는 지를 이해하고 그 문화적 유형을 도출해내는 데 있다. '문화적 혼재화' 유형은 가치 갈등을 빚으면서도 동시에 그때그때의 상황에 따라 '국가'와 '민족' 사이에서 가변적이고 작동적인 합의를 암묵적으로 이루어냄으로써, 아직까지는 사회의 극단적 분열이나 단절로까지 진행되지는 않는 것으로 분석된다. 그러나 현재 한국 사회의 문화적 혼재화 유형 속에 위태롭게 자리 잡고 있는 갈등구조는 향후 전개될 남북 관계 및 국내외 정치여건 변화에 따라 언제든지 적대적이고 폐쇄적인 양상을 띠는 문화적 종단화 유형으로 진전될 가능성이 매우 높아 보인다. 이의 해결이 민족적인 그리고 국가적인 과제라 할 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to introduce an ideal-typical schema within cultural system for analyzing the conflicts of value orientation between Nation and State in Korean society under the "One Nation, Two States" situaltion of the Korean peninsula. "Cultural Conflation Model" assumes that there exist fundamental conflicts between two values at subcultural level but still draws upon a impromptu working consensus, portraying a state of flux. However, Cultural Conflation Model could be transformes very easily to Alexander's Cultural Columnization Model which contains genuinely antagonistic cultures without any significant comon beliefs at cultural level and is very likely to lead to disequilibrium and eventually to civil war. Thus, our efforts to intervene and modiate these value conflicts and create hamonious consensus among different interest groups at cultural and socal system levels are urgently required for the future of our "state" and "nation" as well.
