새로운 감리교 교육과정 개발을 위한 기초연구 : 교육목적과 구조를 중심으로

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to investigate the aim and the structure of education of Korean Methodist Church(KMC) for the new fourth curriculum development. In concrete, the article is to study about three topics like below. First, the researcher tries to critically reflect on the previous third curriculum, Word and Sanctification Curriculum, which has been used so far in KMC. Second, this article is to suggest new aims of education in terms of the traditional spirits of KMC since 1930. That is, “KMC is toward true Christianity, true Methodist, and true Korean church.” On the basis of such a motto, the researcher tries to reinterpret each of them into “from church school to children­youth church as the educational ministry,” “ecumenical education for loving God as well as our neighbors” and “Christian cultural education through hospitality of Korean cultures.” Lastly, the researcher suggests the criterion of content selection in the perspective of KMC’s three different confessions, which have been called by John Wesley’s Emphasis on Methodist Faith, KMCꡑs Faith Confession(1997), and Social Creed(1997). And the researcher also tries to show the principle for the content organization in terms of KMC’s theological guidelines, i.e., Bible, tradition, experience, reason, and indigenous culture.
