‘신앙과 학문의 통합’을 통한 대학채플 목회의 한 모델 연구 - 백석학원의 신앙체계인 개혁주의생명신학과 관광학문의 통합 -

기독교 대학의 사명이라고 할 수 있는 ‘신앙과 학문 통합’의 이론과 방법 론은 대학채플에도 적용되고, 의미 있는 결과를 가져오는 중요한 원리가 될 수 있다는 것이 본 논문의 주장이다. 우리는 이 주장을 입증하기 위하여 신앙과 학문 통합의 기존 연구들을 토대로 대학채플의 상황에서 적용 가능 한 이론적 틀을 정립하였고, ‘기독교인 교수와 학생,’ ‘학문적 연구’와 ‘커리큘 럼’을 그 실천 요소로 제시하였다. 2016년 1학기 백석대학교 관광학부 채플 은 이 주장을 입증하기 위해 기획 및 시행되었다. 대학채플에서의 기독교 신앙과 관광학문의 통합은 양자의 핵심 공유개념인 ‘서비스(섬김)’를 중심으 로 만남과 소통을 함으로써 의미 있는 결과를 이루어 내는 것으로 시작한다. 이러한 맥락에서 관광채플은 “AI 시대의 로봇 서비스와 차별화되는 관광인 의 서비스”라는 주제를 선정했고, 그 주제에 응답하는 형식으로 전체 채플을 기획하고 진행하였다. 신앙과 학문의 통합 과정에서 신앙은 학문에 기독교 적 의미를 부여하였고, 관광학문은 그것을 통해서 보다 실천적이고 구체적 인 대안을 모색해 볼 수 있게 되었다. 결과적으로 신앙과 학문 통합의 원리 와 방법은 대학채플에 적용될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 그렇게 적용되었을 때 채플은 포괄적인 틀과 일관성 있는 방향, 그리고 흥미와 의미를 주는 내용을 지닐 수 있게 되었다고 말할 수 있다. 그러므로 신앙과 학문 통합을 지향하 는 대학채플은 그 자체로 하나의 의미 있는 채플 목회 모델이라고 말할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
It is the argument of this article that the integration of faith and learning as the mission of Christian University could be an important principal which can be applied to the plan and management of University Chapel, and bring the meaningful outcome. We have formulated a theoretical framework which can be adapted at the circumstances of University Chapel on the base of research results out of the integration to prove the argument. And we pre- sented practical requisites, such as ‘christian professor and student,’ ‘academic research,’ and ‘curriculum.’ The Chapel of Baekseok University in the first semester of 2016 was planned and conducted to prove this argument. It can be said that the integration of christian faith and tourism at the University Chapel is to achieve the meaningful results through the en- counter and communication focusing on the essential concept of service shared in both. In this context, tourism chapel designer chose the theme of “the service of tourismer differentiated with robots service in AI times.” And the entire chapel was planned and put into operation in a format that re- sponds to the subject. In the process of the integration of faith and learning, the faith gave the christian meaning to the learning, and the learning can try to find specific alternatives. As a results, we can say that the integration of faith and learning not only can be adapted to the University Chapel, but also gives the Chapel comprehensive frame, consistent direction, and varied con- tent which give interest and meaning to the participant. Therefore the University Chapel oriented towards the integration of faith and learning can be regarded as a pastoral Chapel model in itself.
